Amy Morley elected as new Chair of APM
Amy Morley ChPP has been elected as the new Chair of Association for Project Management (APM) by the organisation's Board of Trustees.
Amy, who is a Programme Management Senior Director at AECOM, takes over the role from Milla Mazilu BEM, who has Chaired APM since 2022. In her new role, Amy will Chair APM’s Board of Trustees, which is responsible for setting the organisation’s strategic direction. She will also represent APM at events and serve as an ambassador for the project profession.
Amy is currently part of AECOM’s Programme Management Global Business Line, supporting clients globally with programme management services for large, complex infrastructure programmes. Amy’s background includes High Speed Two, as well as the UK’s Cabinet Office and the BBC. She will officially commence in the role of APM Chair from 27 May.
She says her main priorities as Chair will include helping APM grow internationally, enhancing the value that APM brings to the profession through its strategic goals, and continuing APM’s work to be a body that represents all project professionals.
Commenting on her election as Chair, she said: “I am honoured and delighted to be made Chair of APM. I am passionate about the project profession, and it is a privilege to be able work with our fellow trustees, members, partners and all of the volunteers and APM staff to continue to advance APM’s impact in such a vital profession.
“I would like to thank outgoing Chair, Milla Mazilu, who has done an absolutely amazing job – not just as Chair but as a real advocate for APM and the project profession overall. She has given a huge amount of time to the role and will be greatly missed.”
APM’s Chief Executive, Professor Adam Boddison OBE, said: “I am delighted to congratulate Amy on being elected Chair of APM and look forward to working with her in this new role. Having worked with Amy as a Board member, I know she will bring a great deal of knowledge and dedication to the role of Chair.”
“I would also like to offer my sincere thanks to Milla Mazilu for her immense contribution to APM and the profession; both as chair for the past three years and as an APM volunteer since 2014.”
Outgoing Chair, Milla Mazilu BEM, added: "I am delighted to welcome Amy into the role of Chair of the APM Board. I am confident that under Amy's leadership, APM will continue its international growth and maintain the value it brings to the project profession. Personally, it has been an honour and a pleasure to serve on the APM Board for the past nine years. It has been very rewarding to see the organisation's accomplishments during this time and I am eagerly anticipating seeing APM continuing to prosper under Amy’s skilled leadership."
