APM wishes to expressly highlight that it is keen to have a diverse board with a mix of skills, experiences, sectors and backgrounds.
How do you squeeze 5 presentations on a complex topic into a 1.5hour event? This was the challenge at the event “People Power Projects & Strategy - A Call to Action” organised by the People SIG and Stakeholder Engagement Focus Group on 16th June. The purpose of the event was to highlight the problems that arise within projects when we don’t pay enough attention to our stakeholders and forget to plan for “the human element”.
The People SIG Annual General meeting took place on 16th June 2016 at the Badgemore Golf Club, Henley-on-Thames with 25 attending and enjoying a presentation from the Stakeholder Engagement Focus Group (SEFG).
With our SIG AGM coming up on 16th June in Henley-on-Thames it is an appropriate time to bring you up to date on what has been going on in the background and what is planned for the future.
The nominations for the People SIG committee has now closed and a list can be found on the attached document of the volunteers and their reason for wishing to join the 2016/17 People SIG committee.
On 17th March 2016 the APM Presents event was held at the Radcliffe Hotel in the environs of Warwick University (Coventry). 13 APM Specific Interest Groups held 3 sessions each (either ½ or 1 hour in duration).
APM Presents … Project Management in Practice 2016 will take place on Thursday 17th March in Coventry. The sessions are presented by 13 of our APM Specific Interest Groups and this years speaker biography list is provided here. Delegates will be able to attend 6 during the course of the day, in small groups so that you will have lots of opportunity to ask questions and learn from our specialist practitioners. Each SIG will be run its session 3 times during the course of the day.
In this podcast one of our members, Carole Osterweil, talks us through how to select a coach and how to make sure that you get what you want from the experience. It’s relevant for people who are wondering whether to work with a coach, for those who are already working with a coach and for people who commission coaching on behalf of others.
Eleri Evans and Russel Jamieson from the People SIG led an evening on Leadership: is it easy to identify leaders? to an inaugural joint meeting with our Northern Ireland branch and members of the Northern Ireland Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) in Belfast.
